Nottingham Workplace Travel Service

If your business works or operates within the Nottingham city area then you’re likely to be eligible for support.

The Workplace Travel Service (WTS) aims to help local organisations:

  • Reduce staff travel costs
  • Improve employee wellbeing
  • Switch to low emission vehicles
  • Reduce local road congestion
  • Save money

Nottingham FestEVal 2018

Grant support

  • A combined funding pot of £650,000 available until March 2020.
  • Public and private sector organisations can receive a grant of up to £25,000 to support sustainable travel initiatives and workplace travel improvements.
  • Businesses need to make a financial or in-kind contribution of 25%.

Grant funding can support:

  • Electric vehicle (EV) charging points, cables, installation, signage, bay marking and warranties.
  • Car parking infrastructure, e.g. barrier controls, signage.
  • Car club or car sharing initiatives (including 1 year Liftshare licence).
  • Cycle Infrastructure: cycle parking/shelters, shower/changing/drying units, pool bikes inc. e-bikes, cycle safety/security equipment, cycle training.
  • Public Transport workplace real-time displays.

Active Travel Service

Specific support services that are designed to help your staff and customers walk, cycle or use public transport as part or all of their commute, including:

  • Cycle instruction/“buddied” commutes
  • Dr. Bike – funded on-site servicing days for staff’s bikes
  • Route planning – showing you the alternatives to being in the car
  • Maintenance classes

Cyclist Awareness Course – to help business drivers improve safety on the roads:

  • Encourage mutual understanding
  • Improve tolerance amongst road users
  • Encourage and support courteous behaviour
