See the latest Electric Vehicles at the Nottingham Green Festival, Sunday 15 September 2019

The Nottingham Green Festival provides the place for everyone to learn, explore and try the latest in everything environmentally friendly and ethical. The Green Festival is now in its 27th year and is organised by grass roots community-based volunteers. The event will take place from 12 midday to 6pm on Sunday 15 September 2019 at Arboretum, Waverley Street, Nottingham NG7 4HF.

Nottingham businesses can try out the latest electric vehicles (EVs) for free, with a selection of the cars and vans available, including the Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Ioniq and Volkswagen e-Golf on show at the Nottingham Green Festival.

Electric vehicles will have a zero Benefit in Kind tax rate for company car drivers from April 2020, so they have the potential to save drivers thousands of pounds per year. In addition, EVs have running costs that can be as low as one-fifth of the running costs of petrol cars. And of course, electric vehicles have zero tailpipe emissions, so they don’t have a negative impact on local air quality.

Many of the electric cars now coming to market have a real-life driving range of up to 300 miles or more. Questions about range, performance, charging – or anything else – can be answered by the ULEV Experience team, who will be on the stand at the Green Festival. As well as free EV loans for a month, the ULEV Experience also offers fully-funded fleet reviews for Nottingham businesses.

The ULEV Experience is funded by Nottingham City Council’s Workplace Travel Service and is a programme dedicated to supporting businesses to understand, trial and implement Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs).

Many local companies are already making the switch to ULEVs and are beginning to enjoy the financial benefits. To date the ULEV Experience programme has already identified that 458 ULEVs could potentially be adopted within Nottingham businesses, saving a combined total of £179,720 per year in running costs and 908 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Further business support is also available in the form of a Workplace Travel Service grant of up to £25,000 to support sustainable transport initiatives including workplace charging infrastructure.
